TTK WORKOVER TURBINES
In addition to our advanced coiled tubing drilling turbines, Turbotek is excited to introduce our new Thru Tubing Turbine (TTT). This compact tool offers a versatile range of power sections to accommodate various speed and torque requirements. Featuring an all-metal construction, the TTT ensures dependable performance in high-temperature environments where conventional motors and elastomer stators may fail. Its robust design eliminates the need for frequent motor replacements, allowing the turbodrill to remain operational for extended periods in high-temperature, pressure-sensitive, and harsh-fluid conditions. Additionally, the TTT operates efficiently with dual-phase milling fluids, further enhancing its versatility and reliability.
Applications:
- Coiled Tubing, Workover rig operations in harsh temperature or fluid environments.
- Remedial work such as wellbore clean-outs, plug milling, barium de-scaling, frac proppant removal are often done on mature wells and still need gas injection to keep the well alive.
- Milling operation in HP/HT environments.
- Underbalanced milling in N2, CO2, and Air environments.
- Acidizing and associated harsh chemical environments.
- Milling operation in scale, cement, barium and sand.
Wellbore clean-outs
- Removal of cement is typically not an issue - with any bit type.
- Removal of scale has been successful – but depending on the scale hardness and quantity, a suitable mill type needs to be selected.
- Frac proppant has been successfully removed several times, using 2-phase fluids in high temperature wells – with no issues.
Milling Bridge plugs
- There is a continuous market for coiled tubing rigs to mill/drill-out multiple bridge plugs, once well testing has been completed.
- To date, the maximum number of plugs removed by turbine in a single run is four – in a vertical well.
- Milling of plugs in a horizontal well is considerably more challenging – and is currently not recommended.
